Sausalito

Sausalito is the Bay Area's homage to Mediterranean living, beautifully situated on the ocean across from San Francisco. With its downtown centered on the waterfront at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge, this small Marin County city offers all the excitement and charm of a waterfront community, without the crowds of San Francisco, and a significantly warmer climate. It's well-known around here that the temperature often rises by ten degrees or more on the northern side of the Golden Gate. Many people arrive in Sausalito on the Fisherman's Wharf ferry from San Francisco, and spend the day browsing fine art galleries, boutiques and restaurants along Bridgeway Street.
